    Paramount Productions Auditions—“A Texas Christmas Carol”

     

    6:00 pm.   Paramount Aritstic Director Barry Smoot has writtin this original stage adaption, which sets the famous holiday tale in Texas during the Great Depression of the 1930s.  The show features an ensemble of 8 actors/actresses, each playing multiple roles.  The show also features alt/folk musicians/singers (in many cases members of the cast) who add traditional and original music to the tale.  TO AUDITION: The show requires a wide range of performers.  Actors please prepare a two minute monoloigue of your choice.  If you play an insturment and/or sing, also prepare a short song to showcase this. MUSICIANS:  Please prepare a song of your choice.  You MUST play an instrument compatible with a folk/alt band (i.e. guitar, mandolin, fiddle, bass).  Musicians/singers may also play characters in the show.  For more information call the theatre at (325) 676-9620 or email the director at: bsmoot@paramount-abilene.org

    Holladay on Film

    6:30 pm.  Paramount Film Director Robert Holladay continues his film lecture series with a discussion of the history and making of the film VERTIGO.  The thirty minute lecture will be followed by a 30 minute break before the feature begins at 7:30 pm.  You must purchase a ticket to VERTIGO to attend this lecture.  FIlm series individual tickets are $6 for adults and $5 for students, senior citizens (60+), military and children.  To order tickets online, click here.

    2:00 pm.  Calling all actors, singers and dancers!  Paramount Productions will present a special "Junior" version of the hit Broadway Musical HAIRSPRAY in January of 2015.  We are now holding open auditions for performers AGES 8 TO 18.  Prepare a short song that shows off your talent and bring a playback CD or sheet music.  A pianist will be available.  All participants must sing with accompaniment.  Hairspray, Junior performs on January 16-18, 2015.  Call director Betty Hukill at 325-676-9620 for more information, or email her directly at bhukill@paramount-abilene.org. Please note the age limitations:  you must be between the ages of 8 and 18 to audition for this production.
