Paramount Productions presents a new interpretation of the acclaimed Broadway musical by Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine on the landmark theatre's stage June 24-26, 2016.

Paramount Artistic Director Barry Smoot is set to direct the production, which promises to be a "new and boldly different" staging of the now-classic piece of American musical theatre.

In this inventive, opulent musical, Sondheim and Lapine take everybody's favorite storybook characters and bring them together to create a new modern classic.  Both men received Tony Awards for their work--Sondheim for his bold, soaring new score, and Lapine for his comedic yet emotionally powerful book.

The story follows a Baker and his wife who wish to have a child, Cinderella who wishes to attend the King's Festival, and Jack who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone's wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results.

At once childlike and wise, hilarious and heartwarming, INTO THE WOODS speaks to the way we set our lives up as examples to others, and takes us on a beautiful journey toward redemption, forgiveness. and understanding.

Don't miss INTO THE WOODS live on the Paramount stage June 24-26, 2016.  Tickets on sale beginning March 1, 2016.
