Director Rob Marshall ("Chicago") guides a stellar cast though this spectacular film version of "Nine: The Musical," which was loosely based on the film 8 1/2 by Federico Fellini. Daniel Day Lewis plays a movie director facing a mid-life crisis, struggling to complete his next movie. In the process, he juggles a few too many women, including his wife (Marion Cotillard), his mistress (Penelope Cruiz), a muse (Nicole Kidman), his producer (Judi Dench), and his mother (Sophia Loren). 2009, color, 120 minutes, rated PG-13. 30Posipalooza7:00 pm. Unity Church of Christianity hosts this live concert event, featuring "music that matters" from Posi Award Winning artists. Headliners include Faith Rivera, Harold Payne, Sue K. Riley, and Richard Meldecki. The opening acts include g6 and Gordon Cotten and Pam Six. The concert is presented in memory of Rev. Karen Johnson, and to recognize the Abilene Police Deaprtment and local media and chureches. All proceeds go to the Rev. Karen Johnson Scholarship Fund. Tickets are $20. 0524fps International Short Film Festival7:00 pm. FIRST NIGHT PROGRAM. The Paramount's acclaimed 24fps International Short Film Festival opens with the first night exhibiion of competition films. Ten short films from around the world (each 20 minutes or less) are screened in competition for cash awards. The festival continues Saturday, November 6 (see calendar listing). Tickets are $8, general admission. A Festival Pass, which allows the holder access to all three festival progams, is available for $15.

A Festival Pass, which allows the holder access to all three festival progams, is available for $15.
